I like to think of myself as an intelligent, unpretentious guy with a big eye on the world ... at least that is what my friends say about me. I recently moved from San Diego to San Jose for work, and find that I love the Bay Area, including the South Bay where I live. At a point in my life right now where friendly, mature sex is OK; but a long-term relationship and my friendships are much more important priorities. Over the long haul, it makes for a better quality of life. I have a lot of varied interests ... Zen Buddhist practice, world travel, contemporary art, live theater, cultural venues, volunteering, but also have a silly, goofy side when I let my guard down. Can't say that I have a particular type physically, but intelligent and good-hearted men are just sexy to me ... in all forms. The only turn-offs are being overly-materialistic or mean/sarcastic humor at other peoples' expense. I shied away from dating for a few years, but now the prospect of meeting new and interesting people, leaving ourselves open and vulnerable to romantic possibilities, and perhaps sharing the journey is kind of exciting.
